Bourgogne, Domaine Anne Boisson, Aligoté 2019

This is a compelling example from Anne Boisson, who has taken over her share of the family vineyards Domaine Boisson-Vadot in Meursault. Elegant, savoury and delicious, the wine offers up enticing notes of lemon and lime along with tangy apple, flowers and a little hint of sourdough bread. It’s got zingy, refreshing acidity and real concentration of flavour. Enjoy it with good bread and cheese or a nice crab salad.

Domaine Anne Boisson

For over 30 years, Domaine Boisson-Vadot has been steeped in a fascinating family history. Parents and children cultivate their Burgundy wines in a spirit of mutual respect. The parents, operators of Domaine Boisson-Vadot in Meursault, developed and promoted their product. Since the retirement in 2016 of Bernard, the father of the family, the torch has been taken up by his son Pierre Boisson and his daughter Anne Boisson, whose list of exceptional wines focuses on quality and excellence.

Located in Meursault, a few kilometers from Beaune, Domaine Anne Boisson develops its vineyards on the terroirs of Auxey-Duresses and Meursault. It also has a number of vineyard plots in Pommard and Monthélie, where its red wines are produced. The estate’s most famous plots are Chevalières, Grands Charrons, Sous la Velle and Genevrières. They give rise to white wines with a taut presence on the palate, pale yellow in color with golden highlights.

Domaine Anne Boisson has succeeded in restoring the nobility of the Aligoté grape, an ancient Burgundy variety that used to be uprooted by growers.

Domaine Anne Boisson produces mainly white wines, mainly Bourgogne Aligoté (from the Aligoté grape), and Meursault Premier Cru, from the Chardonnay grape. The Bourgogne Aligoté appellation is a golden-yellow white wine with extreme finesse on the palate. It distills fruity, toasty notes. Domaine Anne Boisson also produces a Meursault, appellation Les Chevalières. This magical, lemon-yellow cuvée leaves floral and citrus notes on the palate. Domaine Anne Boisson also produces red wine under the Monthélie appellation.
