Pessac-Leognan, Château Carbonnieux Blanc 2015

Pessac-Leognan, Château Carbonnieux Blanc 2015 – There is a beautiful straight line of crispness in this wine. It cuts right through the wood and ripe yellow fruits to leave a wine with great clarity.

Score: 93-95 Wine Enthusiast

Great definition, this has soft white flowers with a graphite kick on the finish. Floral aromatics add a lift – this is one of the fresher whites of the vintage.

Score: 92 Decanter

Aromas of stones, limestone and sliced pears follow through to a full body and tight and fruity flavors. Focused with an oyster-shell and cooked-apple aftertaste. Drink now.

A broad, juicy style, with anise, yellow apple and white peach notes that are open and inviting, backed by light brioche and candied citrus hints. Has some zip, but more flattering in style overall.

Score: 89-92 Wine Spectator

Deceptively medium in body, the 2015 Carbonnieux is laced with expressive grapefruit, lemon peel and white flowers. The crisp, bright finish is quite appealing, as is the wine’s overall balance.

Score: 88-90 Antonio Galloni

Pale lemon yellow. Rather sweet vanilla nose. Big and bold on the palate. Then lots of Sauvignon raciness on the finish. Pleasing but a tad sweeter than some.
