Pessac-Leognan, Château La Mission Haut Brion Blanc 2015

DKK 5.999,00 inkl. moms

Pessac-Leognan, Château La Mission Haut Brion Blanc 2015 is a blend of one-third Sauvignon Blanc and two-thirds Semillon, picked between 28 August and 8 September, has an attractive bouquet with lime, Granny Smith apples, orange zest and cold stone, well defined if not the most complex that I have encountered over the years. The palate is lively on the entry with fine tension and impressive intensity, spicy on the tip of the tongue, almost fiery, with the Semillon dominating the finish and lending the complexity: hints of dried pineapple, almond and Cornice pear. This is an excellent La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, but it needs a few years for the aromatics to really open, just as Laville Haut-Brion did in the old days.

Score: 92/94 Neal Martin

The is a creamy and enticing Haut-Brion Blanc showing cream, cooked-apple, lemon and mineral aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, layered and soft with silky tannins. A long and bright aftertaste. Energetic and focused. Drink now.

Score: 97 James Suckling

The 2015 Haut-Brion Blanc brings together freshness with power like few wines in this vintage. Lemon confit, white flowers, mint and ripe orchard fruit all open up in the glass. In this vintage, the white is Sauvignon Blanc dominated, but it doesn’t taste like it at all. Beams of salinity give the 2015 its focus and energy through the finish. This is a stellar showing.

Score: 94/97 Antonio Galloni

The 2015 Haut Brion Blanc is the more Sauvignon dominated white from this team (the La Mission is more Sémillon) and checks in as 69% Sauvignon Blanc and 31% Sémillon, brought up in barrel. It offers a sensational perfume of caramelized limes, white grapefruit, tangerine, mint, and citrus, with a pure, elegant, seamless style on the palate. It’s not as concentrated or opulent as the la Mission, yet has incredible precision and purity, as well as minerality. Drink it anytime over the coming decade (or more). 2018 – 2028
